Turning the Spotlight on Matrox Imaging’s Photometric Stereo Tools
23/11/2022

Matrox Imaging Library (MIL)—and soon, Matrox Design Assistant—software include powerful photometric stereo tools.

What is photometric stereo? In short, a technique to synthesize a composite, enhanced-contrast image from a series of source images. This tool highlights changes to surface curvature and material, revealing raised or recessed defects like dents or scratches, or features like stamped or embossed symbols. It removes specular reflections when looking at something behind a transparent wrapper.
